Can you view my posted items feed, even if I am not on your Facebook friends list? …even if you are not a Facebook user? I suspect you can – I can see it when I’m logged out…
What about my posted items page? That one, probably not.
Until you add someone as a friend, if they’re not in your network, you can usually only see their profile image, and who their friends are. So, why can my posted items feed be viewed? …probably only because I just gave you a direct link to it. :-p
But, I wonder about this, because I could take that RSS feed and put it on another site, and anyone could see it. However, I think that would be violating Facebook’s Terms of Service, which state:
No Site Content may be modified, copied, distributed, framed, reproduced, republished, downloaded, displayed, posted, transmitted, or sold in any form or by any means, in whole or in part, without the Company’s prior written permission…
Now, there are some exceptions, related to user-generated content, and presumably to third-party content, whose owners may not even know was used, but my head’s starting to spin, so further thought on that will be postponed until later…
